Please contact for item approval and to arrange for the donation of your materials. Better World Books is a triple bottom line organization that supports literacy programs around the world and keeps used books out of landfills.Ĭentral Library does not take donations of books, please see one of our Regional Libraries or other locations for donations. If we aren’t able to sell a book, it is donated to Better World Books, which resells or recycles all donations and a portion of the funds go to support our Literacy program. If we do not add the donated books, we may sell the book in one of our book sales located at several libraries across Tulsa County. The acceptance of a donation does not mean the Library will. The Library accepts donations of new and used books and audio visual materials. While we are happy to receive your book donations, we are unable to notify you of decisions we make about your donations. We do not collect or attempt to sell rare books.We do not accept VHS or cassette tapes.We cannot accept a large volume of books please keep donations to 25 items or one box at any one time.We are unable to use books that have outdated information or are worn, torn, stained, yellow, dirty, moldy or dusty, or have personal information written or highlighted in them.We can use books that are in excellent condition and less than five years old.Donations are accepted at the discretion of the local library manager.When donating to Tulsa City-County Library, please keep in mind: We certainly welcome donations! The Library welcomes donations of good quality materials, including hardcover and paperback books, childrens books, DVDs and CDs (music and audio books). As a general rule, if you wouldn’t buy it, please don’t donate it. We are entirely dependent on the donation of books, games & puzzles, and other material by thousands of our donors. Books that are in poor condition, musty or missing pages are also not accepted. Donations to the library, whether its books or a monetary donation, are critical to the success of library programs and services offered. Pease do NOT donate textbooks, computer or technology books, reference books, or travel books that are older than two years. Books donated to the Friends are tax deductible and Friends will provide a receipt upon request, but are prohibited by the IRS to assign a value for your donation.įriends welcomes coffee table books, antique or collectible books, art, history, gardening, craft and hobby, fiction, classics, cookbooks and children’s books, as well as DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks.
